Family Secrets
We grew up in this small town.
House, stockyard, supermarket, pub.
Once or twice, we’ve ventured
out to the wider world.
Our forebears were miners—
grew old digging in darkness.
It’s a small town. Tunnels you can’t see
collapse inside us.
