Two Kinds of Dead People by Ralph James Savarese

Two Kinds of Dead People

Scientists call
getting lost
in a
book “transport.”
It’s the
same with
death, really.
You’re delivered
like a
FedEx package,
conveyed by
escalator or
moving sidewalk.
You must
get lost
to live.

Ralph James Savarese is the author of two collections of poetry, Republican Fathers (Nine Mile Books) and When This Is Over: Pandemic Poems (Ice Cube Press). He lives in Iowa City, Iowa.
