Almost Sea Glass by Sheila Wellehan

Almost Sea Glass

I study the green triangle
I spied on the rocks—
it’s almost sea glass.
Its color is opaque,
but its edges are still rough.
I consider tossing it back into the ocean
to season a few years more,
then I slip it into my pocket—
we must elevate the grace we’re given.
