Two Poems by Enas Suleiman

Run

Pick up your dress and run
if you trip over your slip
remove your dress.
As you run
collect love poems on the way,
put them in the biggest jar you find.
Keep the jar by your bedside
so when the morning light
begs your eyes to open,
you will find it all there –
safe and intact.

*

Dust

The window is shut,
orange curtains drawn
yet dust finds its way
into the drawers
I have reserved for you.
Come.
Help me fix the cracks
so we can be.
